Roebling Bridge
The Roebling Bridge is an icon in Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati. The John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge served as a prototype for The Brooklyn Bridge. The bridge is over 150 years old, having opened on December 1, 1866. More than 166,000 people visited and walked across the bridge in its first two days of operation. Beginning January 1, 1867 tolls were charged. Pedestrian-1 penny. Horse and buggy-15 cents. Three horses and a carriage-25 cents.
The Roebling Bridge continues to be an engineering marvel and is a vital part of the history of Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati. These are just two of several reasons why the Roebling Bridge is so often photographed.
