Classic Car Hood Ornaments 1913-1933
From 1905 to the early 1930s motorists relied on MotoMeters, a thermometer device mounted on the top of the radiator to monitor engine coolant temperature. MotoMeters were adorned with decorative works of art. Later car manufacturers changed the body design and placed the radiator under the hood. The decorative works of art that began on the radiator caps became a fashionable accessory on top of the hood. In this Gallery you will see fashionable radiator caps and hood ornaments.
